I am an Adult Survivor of Childhood Trauma and PTSD

My name is Jessica. Hello. I hate these about things, I never know what to write and I wanted to get this bloody blog up and running so I thought I would give you a quick insight to who I am and a basic outline of my story. I will update this when I have more time to sit and think about how to do a better job. Basically, this blog is a pet project of mine combined with my facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/traumasurvivors. I created it with several goals.

  • To share my story, to find a way to tell my story.
  • To share what I learn on my journey to healing and recovery from PTSD.
  • To share my journey as an adult survivor of childhood abuse and trauma.
  • To connect with others who are also survivors and who struggle to find healing and peace.
  • To provide a support systems for not only people like myself, but to those who care about people like us, survivors of trauma and sufferers of PTSD.
  • To stand up for those with mental illness and who struggle with PTSD and to take away the stigma that is associated with both.
  • To provide accurate information about PTSD and quelsh the ignorant and incorrect assumptions and information floating around regarding PTSD and Trauma Survivors.
  • And finally, to provide a sanctuary, a place for information and peace and a safe place to connect and share your story with others.
  • Most importantly, my goal is to let you know that you are not alone. Help is out there and so is a community of people who suffer, have suffered and are working on healing. You. Are. Not. Alone.

My story will come out as I write more and develope this blog. I will also update this page when I have more time to focus on it.

The picture above is of me and my mother, the woman who adopted me when I was a teenager and who provided me with safety, security, unconditional love and acceptance. She is an amazing woman and I will talk more about our journey as time goes on.

For now, thank you for visiting my site, for taking the time to read and I hope you will feel comfortable here, joining the community and learning more about PTSD and Adult Survivors of Childhood Trauma.

This is a FB video. I talk about stuff.

Really not thrilled with the freeze frame image. 8-P

Introducing myself. This is scary. Just so you know!
